Target Audience Research Conclusion

I conducted some research within members of my target demographic to see what title and font type appealed to them the most.

First of all, I came up with many words I associated with Women's Fashion Magazines and placed them all in a mind map together. I then narrowed all of these words down to 6 that I felt would make a good magazine title and wrote them all down in the survey.

After I sent my survey out to people in my target demographic, I waited for the results which showed that the name Flourish was the most popular name for my magazine. From this research I have concluded that the name for my magazine will be called Flourish which I think represents growth and beauty, both of which are themes I see are closely linked to the magazine I want to create. Flourish to me also relates to flowers developing and growing into their most beautiful state which could link to how my target audience will 'Flourish' into their best selves.

I also conducted research on the font type that I will be using for my masthead font on my front cover. I selected fonts from the website Dafont which is a website that has fonts that you can download and install onto Photoshop. After selecting a range of fonts, I narrowed them down to 5 fonts that I could see being used as the font for my title.

After sending these font types out to my target audience I found that the font that appealed the most was the font 'Vogue' closely followed by both 'Apollo' and 'Lucida Bright' so when I am making my magazine covers, I will experiment with these three fonts to see which one suits the covers the best.
